Exciting New Additions in 2025

There are some exciting new additions headed our way in 2025.

We hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas time. ARK Wildlife Park may be shut this month (January) but it is all stations go here still. Not only do the animals still need as normal whatever day of the year it is but also we have some exciting new additions headed our way.

We have three exciting new additions headed our way.

Exciting new additions-Jungle Cats

If you’ve visited us you may have seen one of our more unusual wildcats, seldom seen in zoos, our beautiful Ameya, the Jungle Cat. We will shortly be giving a home to another and rather unusual Jungle Cat. Yuumi, a rare melanistic (all black) Jungle cat.

Alongside Yuumi we will also be giving a home to Nidalee & Bao, two Chausie cats. The Chausie cat is a hybrid coming from the mating of Jungle cats with domestic cats. These three beautiful felines were confiscated from a breeder having been kept in appalling conditions. All three will be moving into a custom built new home where they’ll receive a permanent loving home.

Exciting new additions-Otters

We are very excited to have two otters coming to join us soon. These otters are going to need extra special care and we have set up a fundraiser to help us!

We’re pleased to introduce Bronte & Indigo a pair of Asian short clawed otters. Two otters who haven’t learnt to swim.

This young pair of otters have had a particularly bad start to life, having been discovered kept in sub-standard conditions. Currently they are struggling to swim, something you’d think is a fundamental part of being a happy healthy otter!

Unfortunately this is most likely due to being removed from mum at a very young age. When they were rescued they were of an age that they should have still been with mum. Without her guidance and the lack of a suitable environment they never learnt to swim.

We’re now working on a spacious enclosure with a pond to give them the best home we possibly can. We will build up their confidence around water to the point they’re happy to swim, play and behave the way an otter should.

Work has begun on an enclosure and the ARK have set up a fundraiser on GoFundMe for individuals or companies to sponsor the otters and their new home. Which should be ready to welcome the water phobic pair early this year.

One last project to be announced…

Project 3 is yet to be announced. From the paw prints pictured do you have any idea what it may be?
